MAC MABIDILALA
A farmer at heart, Terrabosch owner, Mac Mabidilala is the driving force behind the portfolio of brands and projects within the Terrabosch stable.
Mac’s family’s livestock farming heritage in the Northern Cape, coupled with his love for food and wine, brought him to the Cape Winelands to pursue his dream of producing wines and olive oil that reflect the capes diverse terroir.
Working closely with a select number of top producers, Mac plays a hands-on role in the blending and barrel selection of the wines produced under Terrabosch, as well as in the label and packaging design process, putting over a decade of experience building global brands for multinational organizations to good use. He also farms olives on a 12 hectare leased property in Stellenbosch, nurturing over 5000 trees to produce the Culinara by Terrabosch olive oil range.
A Stellenbosch Business School graduate, Mac is committed to making a contribution to the South African wine industry and has been a two-time innovation judge at the Wine Food Tourism Conference, as well as having mentored a number of aspiring entrepreneurs as part of the Stellenbosch Business School Small Business Academy and the Stellenbosch Network. He conceptualized Cellarkey, an innovative platform that makes it easier for wine lovers to get matched to wines that they will like, leveraging technology.
